The amount of spanking information on the Web is growing rapidly. I’m going to mention a few of the sites I know best. If I have left out your favorite, let me know and I’ll check it out.

General information

Sites that function as matchmakers

Each of these sites offers more than just matchmaking, but it’s something they share and sometimes do well.

Bondage.com (www.bondage.com) is the Web’s premier site for all things BDSM. It has a terrific discussion section (fora) that features conversation on a wide variety of topics, including philosophy, religion,  sports, and of course BDSM. B.com, as it is known, is the best all-around site and offers by far the most interesting conversations.

Its personal section features the opportunity to express your personality in both essay and checklist forms, an extensive checklist of what specific kinky acts you like and how much you like them, and permits photos; lots of photos, if  you like.

You might think that a site dedicated to BDSM might not offer much for the spanking aficionado. That’s not true . . . it offers a lot! Under the broader BDSM umbrella, there are a lot of spankos who trade stories, thoughts, and tips and now and then find a new real life partner as well.

Spanking.com (www.spanking.com) started as a matchmaking site only. It retains that function, but it offers relatively little information about its participants and the number of people who are members is relatively small. The site has now added a lot of spanking photos and movies; I haven’t looked them over and have no idea of their quality. I still go there to check out new people in the local scene.

Alt.com (www.alt.com) looks to me to be the largest of the kinky personal web sites. Its major advantage is size: there are lots and lots of people on alt. com, and in any crowd that big you will find some people for whom spanking is a primary interest.

Alt.com has more than its share of maddening shortcomings. It keeps members active for years after they have no longer signed on. It has a mediocre imitation of the bondage.com fetish interest checklist. And it is very paranoid, working hard to keep everyone’s communications only through its channels. It will edit out of your comments any mention of competing web sites, and threatens to suspend memberships of members who offer to carry on a conversation in an outside e-mail, which is routine past the first couple of exchanges.

Having said that, it does have lots and lots of members so if you are on the lookout for potential spanking partners it’s still worth looking at.
