Sarah, my spanking girlfriend, gave me an incredible Valentine's day present on February 14, 2007.
I had just moved into a new house. It's a single-level with two bedrooms. The interior looks out on an enclosed back yard with a pool:

Do you see the flowers at the angles in the low wall? They weren't there last week.
Here is what Sarah wrote.
Dear Doc,
I have a confession to make. I hope you don’t mind—my intentions were good, but now I’m having second thoughts that you might think what I did crossed a line, and if I did, I’ll do what I need to do to make it right.
I’ve been sneaking into your backyard to plant flower bulbs and seeds. They will flower into red blossoms starting in February through November, depending on the type of bulb. The cyclamen is blooming now, but eventually you’ll see phlox, canna lilies, calla lilies, day lilies, gladiolas, ranunculus, California poppies, Asian poppies, dahlias, peonies, red marigolds, tulips and bleeding hearts.
I took the liberty of contacting women you’ve spanked to find out what their favorite flower was, and they were all thrilled to have a place in your garden. Each woman had a different favorite (Satia’s is the cyclamen, Kate’s is the California poppy, Patty’s is the calla lily, Janet loves ranunculus, etc.) I will make you a guide so you can tell them apart when I’ve finished. They all make good cut flowers if you want to have fresh flowers in your house or give them to people. They’re mostly planted in the back corner, except thee dinner-plate dahlias which will grow almost as tall as I am—they’re planted next to the bamboo that I love.
What I envisioned is you, looking out your window, seeing a riot of red blossoms and thinking of all of us whose lives you touched. I hope you know what a treasured place you hold in each of their hearts. They speak of you fondly, with respect and admiration.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Sarah
Here are some close-ups:

Angela's phlox and Sherie's marigolds are planted here and will come up in the spring.

kate's California poppies, not in bloom yet.

Satia's cyclamen

Blooming kalanchoe in foreground (the affiliated woman has not been asked for permission to be identified on the Web) and, behind it, a glimpse of patty's calla lilies (not blooming yet).
Sarah, you are so thoughtful, so generous. I am deeply touched.
Thank you.
