A Moment

A Moment

In the last moments
Before the fire rains down
The anticipation
Becoming sweet agony
I can not
I can not do this
I must

Caught in the web of my own weave
A condemned woman
Facing the fate she has chosen
Dread and lust
Mingle into one
Hoping for mercy
Praying for none

And none was received

Moments of fierce sensation
All thoughts of grace forgotten
Survival the only instinct left
Desperate for a reprieve
Yet grateful for none

Flames on the
Flesh take over
The vivid colors of pain
Are the only thing seen
By eyes turned inward

And to the place of the gods
I was taken
Time transcended space
And the tears of freedom flowed

The purity of the moment
Spanning from second to years
Freed by the bonds
Cleansed by fire

The understanding of true release
Carried forward
Into the new dawn
